The wireless keyboards and mice that I've seen do not use Bluetooth for signal transmission so I would not expect if Bluetooth gets disabled, that it would affect the keyboard or mouse. If the Bluetooth adaptor was off – how was I able to use the wireless keyboard and mouse? If after reinstalling Java you still have freeze-up issues, then let me know.
